Puerto Montt

Puerto Montt is a larger town than Puerto Chacabuco. It has volcanoes just outside of town and is close to the Chilean lake region. It was founded in 1853 by German immigrants.

We took a bus excursion that went around the south side of Lake Llanquihue to the catamaran dock at Petrohué for a short cruise, and then a stop at the Petrohué River Falls, before having lunch and returning to the MV Discovery.
